Rewriting History – New Village Hall!
On March 10th, Mayor David Smith and guests were invited to tour the future location of the new village hall! After searching various locations throughout the Village, plans are moving forward to convert the former Elgin Furniture building located on Northfield Road into the new village hall. This 16,000 sq. ft building will allow the Village to provide better service and access to the community. Guest included: Council President Woodrow Marcus, Councilwoman Iris Chears, Councilwoman Lynn Gady, Councilman Don DeRoia, Building Commissioner Charles Horvath.
Construction and remodeling is scheduled to begin June 2021. The new village hall will provide greater access to the existing business community and influence the attraction of others in the future. The current village hall, is being remodeled to better service the North Randall Fire Department and will continue to house the jail.
When asked about the new hall, Mayor Smith said, “From the labor of devastation and defeat… now we watch and experience the rebirth of the forgotten sleeping Village on the Hill become the beacon of its history in the remaking. Come and join us as we embark on a new beginning in the Village Of North Randall!”
