Amazon Donates $20,000 to Warrensville City Schools!
On Wednesday, October 2, 2019 North Randall Mayor David Smith addressed the crowd following U.S. Representative Marcia Fudge and School Superintendent Donald Jolly II and others at the new Amazon Fulfillment Center in North Randall, OH.
The event celebrating the Grand Opening of the center, featured the Amazon Robotics technology and included a tour. As a highlight of the event Amazon donated $20,000 to the Warrensville Heights City Schools to help further support the enrichment of every student’s education, including implementing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) curriculum and emphasizing college readiness, community partnerships and classroom technology.
Mark Huber, General Manager of Amazon North Randall Fulfillment Center said, “Today, we are donating $20,000 to Warrensville Heights City Schools to help further their mission of support to enrich every scholar’s education, including implementing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) curriculum and emphasizing college readiness, community partnerships and classroom technology.” Amazon’s donation will help fund the school’s K-16 STEM programs, creating STEM environments and developing future leaders.
Mayor Smith graciously thanked Amazon for the support and transformation it has brought to the Village of North Randall. He also spoke directly to the students involved in various STEAM programs who were in attendance about overcoming adversity and aspiring to be anything.
