North Randall is Giving Back!
In partnership with the Warrensville Heights Area Chamber of Commerce (WHACC), North Randall is doing their part to give back. As a representative of the village, our Mayor is stepping out of the office and doing his part to help those in need. Once a month since January 2019 Mayor David Smith has joined the WHACC at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank in support of their mission: to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day. Along with the Mayor’s time, the Village of North Randall has offered the volunteer group the opportunity to use our new city van as transportation to and from the Food Bank.
“I feel it’s my way of giving back to those that are less fortunate outside of our community”, Mayor Smith said about why the Village donates the van. “It’s a way of showing our support to the chamber in action, not just in words”.
When asked why he chooses to actively volunteer at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank Mayor Smith said, “I know this sounds cheesy but… because I care. I care to be involved”. The Mayor continued, “I care to see the process of being involved outside of my political fashion. This has nothing to do with me being political. It’s because of the connection I have with the chamber… and the chamber encourages you to be involved”. Since the launch of this program in 2019, there has been over 250 volunteer hours logged at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
